I hope you had a chance to check out my last post describing active learning journals. I shared four apple themed pages which you can find here.

Today, I’m sharing 6 more quick apple themed pages! Please ignore my attempt at fancy artwork. I cannot draw to save my life!!
For this page I wrote E’s in white crayon in some of the apples. My charge, E who is 3, will use watercolor to find the hidden letters. With an older child you could use all the letters of their name.

E is highly motivated by scissors so for this page she’ll practice straight lines. Super simple!

Our first of a few math pages will use Pom poms or leaf stickers to measure how tall each tree trunk is. The black line at the bottom is for me to write the number which an older child could do on his or her own. Using Non standard measurements is important for building spatial awareness skills in young children.

To work on one to one correspondence, E will work her fine motor skills using Pom poms to count and cover the apple baskets. You could also use apple themed stickers or colored dot stickers. We might use our do a dot markers afterwards for an extra color match work. For older kids you could have them write the number in the basket.

Again, we are working the muscle memory with producing straight lines. Straight lines make up most of the letters in her plus is the basis of her initial E. Young children are extremely excited to learn the letters of their name because it has meaning for them. Anytime we can work those skills in the better off she’ll be later in formal education.

I haven’t quite decided what this page will become. We might use dot stickers. I might have E trace and color the circles. I let her decide when the time come!
I hope these pages are helpful! I’ll be back with a few more next week plus my Apple plans for the rest of September will be available! Come back to check it all out!
