Match a Jack O Lantern Game

We are so close to Halloween, can you believe it? I’m not one for super spooky Halloween decorations and activities especially for little ones. However, I can’t pass up an adorable Jack o Lantern game!

Since E (3 years old) has been working on her visual discrimination skills, I thought it would be fun for her to have a hands on activity. While scouring Pinterest, don’t pretend like you don’t, I found this cute printable from Mrs. Merry. I knew I could make a great matching game using these pieces and the foam pumpkin cut outs I had already purchased.

YOU’LL NEED:

*Mrs. Merry printable

*Black Foam

*Foam Pumpkin Cutouts

I simply traced Mrs. Merry’s pieces onto the black foam and cut them out. I took pictures of all the different combinations! Lucky for you, I’ve included them below for you to print off for your own use!

To use this as a game I’ll have E pick a Jack o Lantern picture and then recreate it on her own!

Some other ideas include:

Printing two sets of pictures for a memory game

Adding magnets to the foam pieces to recreate on a cookie sheet or fridge

Recreating Jack o Lanterns on a sticky wall

Add foam pieces to a water bin, have your child scoop and then recreate the Jack o Lantern

I would love to know if you print these to use with your child! You can find me on Instagram @rachrunstx or theteachingnannyblog@gmail.com
