It’s the most wonderful time of the year!! If you’ve followed me for a while you know that celebrating Thanksgiving is my greatest joy! Since my teaching years I’ve always gone all out for our lesser end of the year celebration.

If you would like some more Thanksgiving and Turkey themed ideas head over here!

I love this button turkey so much which is why I’m sharing him first! You could use this as a color match activity or just for fine motor practice. You could present this with feathers on or off depending on your child’s skill level.

Going along with the fine motor turkey theme is this DIY box turkey. I wrapped a small carboard box, added some holes on the side to put the feathers. Not pictured are the colored circles around each hole for older children to color match. Like the button turkey you can present with feathers in or out depending on age level.

Who doesn’t love pumpkin pie covered in whipped cream?! I created these count and cover pies last year. (Printable available here!)

My four year old charge is just in the beginning stages of recognizing numbers on the dice also called subsitizing. I made this fun game to help encourage her new skills. We use pom poms to cover each shape. (This page is also in the printable found here)

So many of our favorite Thanksgiving books take place on the farm. It seems like the perfect time to add a little farm themed magnet play along with our turkey and scarecrow friends!

Our feather velcro pull from last year has seen some more action this year! Both kids still love hearing the sound of velcro being pulled.

Some Thanksgiving 3 part cards from last year have made it back into our rotation.

Pom poms have to be my most used tool I have in my arsenal! We love stuffing our turkey so he’s nice and fat for Thanksgiving!

Speaking of stuffing turkeys! The kids have been besides themselves pouring and scooping corn into the turkey. The sound is probably their favorite part!
