Ten Thanksgiving Themed Fine Motor Activities

Want more Thanksgiving fun??? Check out these posts here!

Fine motor activities seem to be some of the easiest things to set up. They fit my criteria of minimal supplies that can be used in a variety of ways for multiple ages!

To set up these work trays you’ll need the following:

  • Brown kinetic sand or playdough
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Beads (either wooden or pony)
  • Feathers
  • Googly eyes
  • Popcorn
  • Various empty containers
  • Pom poms
  • Cranberries
  • Dish pans
  • Water play tools like: spoons, strainers, turkey basters, measuring spoons, small bowls

First up are three trays that will use kinetic sand or playdough, feathers, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and beads!

Playdough Turkey Trays

Using brown kinetic sand my charges made turkey bodies to the best of their abilities!!

You can use the pipe cleaners as feathers. We added colored beads to each pipe cleaner for a color matching activity.

Thanksgiving Food Sensory Play

For these next few sensory bins you’ll need cranberries, corn, containers, and water play tools.

Our stuff the turkey sensory bin has been a huge hit this season!

Another winner has always been water play, adding cranberries makes it super festive for November!

Dried corn makes the coolest noises when scooped and poured. Just make sure to watch around younger toddlers who may still mouth things!

Fine Motor Turkeys

My beloved button turkey is a labor of love that my friends have loved for years!

My box turkey has also intrigued my youngest charge (2.4 yrs) this year.

Another fun stuff the turkey activity this time with pom poms is perfect for those smaller toddlers who are still mouthing.

To finish off, I’ll throw in one art project even though I always say I’m not much of a crafty nanny! This color match turkey is one even I can pull off!

You can use dot sticker or do a dot markers to fill the turkey’s colored feathers. Couldn’t be easier!
