Two Valentine’s Day Number Games with Free Printable

One of the goals of The Teaching Nanny is providing simple playful activities for nannies and parents. Play and learning can come together in a powerful way! Using minimal supplies, usually things you already have on hand, you can easily introduce learning activities in a gentle way!

The Teaching Nanny

For these two games, you’ll need:

  • Printable (available at the end of this post)
  • Valentine’s Candy, stickers, unifix cubes, or counters
  • Envelopes

Cover the Heart

Using small themed counters or candy, have your child cover the heart with the correct number on each balloon.

Build a Tower

Another twist involves unifix cubes or candy! Simply have your child build a tower on each number balloon.

Mail the Number

This game takes a few more minutes to prepare, but it’s really worth it! Write, or use stickers, the numbers on envelopes. Here I’m using 1-5 (the printable includes 1-20).

Tape the envelopes to your wall.

Lay number cards on the floor or hide around the room for your child to find.

Have your child “mail” the number to the matching envelope!
