4 Quick Active Learning Journals Using Stamps

I’ve long been a vocal supporter of using journals for toddlers and preschoolers as a way to document growth and learning over time. It especially works wonderfully in my position as a nanny (because I get to be with my children for years at a time) and as a homeschooler! I’m always looking for new exciting tools to add a twist to the more typical pages we have created in the past.

Have you ever been walking through the seasonal aisle and seen small themed stampers and wondered what you could use them for? Well, wonder no more! I have four really easy ways you can use seasonal stampers in your active learning journals! These particular pages happen to be Halloween themed, but you can use them for any season.

FILL THE BOX

This fill the box page can be made for whatever number your child is working on. Simply draw a few boxes in different sizes and add the number you want your child to stamp!

FINISH THE PATTERN

Here is another page that can be made completely dependent on your child’s needs. I created a few different patterns and gave spaces to fill in the correct stamp. My five year old charge was able to complete this on her own (I ended up making a harder page on the other side) while my three year old caught on very quickly after watching his sister!

FILL THE WEB

Now, this page is pretty Halloween specific, but don’t let that stop you from creating something similar. I could see this being turkey feathers for Thanksgiving or a tree for Christmas, or even eggs for Easter. It’s basically a page for your child to use fine motor control to stamp inside a small space!

TRACE YOUR NAME

Pretty self explanatory page! You could also use this for letters or numbers depending on what you want your child to practice.

I hope you were able to find a few new ideas! Don’t forget to pin these ideas for next year!
