5+ Spring Themed Active Learning Journal Pages

I’ve long loved using Active Learning Journals to keep a detailed documentation of growth over time! You can watch a child develop by using the same types of activities month after month.
These new pages are really simple using limited resources.
You’ll only need
- Spring stickers
- A dice
- Small counters like erasers or pom poms
- Markers or a pencil

A quick and easy fine motor pre-writing page. Simply place stickers where you would like, draw a line in your desired shape!

Another pre-writing page that can be created for whatever level your child needs. Place stickers where you would like and have your child add stems. On the bottom page, let your child explore his or her flower drawing skills!

This page mixes pre-writing and math! Using a dice, have your child roll, count, and then circle the correct number of stickers. For older children you could use two dice for addition practice. Your child can circle individual circles if you’re working on one to one correspondence. If you want to work on grouping, have your child circle each group.

I’m really proud of this grouping, fine motor, one to one correspondence page! It’s so easy. Draw a few flowers. Add numbers you want to work on (I happened to have number stickers lying around, you don’t need them!) Have your child fill each flower with springy stickers!

Using non-standard units for counting is an excellent way for preschoolers to understand the concept of measuring in an easy way. For this measuring page, have your child use pom poms or small erasers to count how tall each plant is growing. An older child might be able to write each number on the flower pot!

Roll and color pages are some of my favorite ways to work on counting and subsitizing. My drawing skills are not the best, luckily my nanny charges aren’t concerned! Have your child roll a dice. Color any flower using the number key!
